Volker Huelck Becomes Muñoz Group Associate

Arlington, VA. (September 22, 2003) -- Dr. Volker Huelck, with more than 30 years experience in the chemical and plastics industries, has joined the Muñoz Investment Banking Group as an associate. Huelck will continue to work from his office in Kelkheim, Germany.

“We are proud to bring Volker and his valuable experience and understanding in plastics and chemicals to help us and our clients on a worldwide basis,” said Edward Muñoz, principal of the group. “He will be working on the exciting new carbon fiber technology recently acquired by the Muñoz group, as well as with some of our other clients.”

Huelck worked for Hoechst AG, starting in R&D then in a variety of positions in organic chemistry, and plastics including being a member of the Divisional Board Plastics responsible for R&D worldwide for more than 10 years. Most recently he served as Vice President, General Manager and Member of the Executive Committee of Ticona.

Huelck is a fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and he did post doctoral research in applied chemistry at Imperial Kyushu University in Japan. He has a PhD and an MS in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University where he is a member of the Global Council and a Diplom-Ingenieur from Universität Karlsruhe.

Huelck has been honored with several professional awards, including the George-Menges Award presented by the German Association of Plastics Companies. He is active in a number of plastics organizations and is currently Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the German Plastics Center (SKZ) in Würzburg.
