Muñoz named HENAAC Hispanic Engineer of Year (Return to News From Muñoz Group page)
(Arlington, VA, November 15, 2002) -- Citing him as “a new breed of global executive whose vision transcends international borders and inspires innovative business practices,” Edward Muñoz recently received the HENAAC Engineer of the Year award presented by TECHNICA Magazine and the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Corporation. HENAAC (Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards) are presented annually to recognize Hispanic engineers and scientists whose contributions best exemplify innovation, hard work and achievement in the fields of science, engineering and technology. The award was presented at their annual banquet. Muñoz and other Hispanic Engineers were featured in TECHNICA Magazine. Muñoz was the first Hispanic professional at the Celanese Corporation at Bishop, TX. That began a career that saw him rise to the top spot as CEO of Ticona (a Celanese company), with over 2,500 employees and a billion dollars in sales. During his 30-year career he worked on four continents and held critical management positions including being a member of the Celanese AG Board of Directors. Muñoz is now a partner with the Muñoz Investment Banking Group LLC, an Arlington, VA based firm offering full investment banking services while specializing in emerging markets and emerging technologies. ***
